Good afternoon all

   Need to get speedo calibration done on my LH for certification here in NZ

 have 186 ,with W50 5 speed ,3.08 diff  , 205/70 R14 tyres 

have just done gps check and at 62 kmh car reads 50 kmh 

 at 100kmh car reads around 82.

my question is can I get different size speedo gears for W50 ? 
or any other suggestions would be appreciated need to get it 2% accurate

You should be able to buy the gears for them. You will have to work out from the teeth on the drive and driven gears you have now and then work out what you need, then go looking at sites for Toyotas to find what you need.

 

For example it looks like you need to drive the speedo cable 25% faster. If your current gears are say 7 teeth drive and 24 teeth driven you need to drop the driven teeth count by 25% so will need to drop to about 18 teeth (which may not be available). You may have to do it by swapping to say 8 teeth on the drive gear which will be around 21 teeth on the driven gear. However these gears may not be available. I have a couple of these boxes in pieces that I'd give to you if you were local, plus another complete box. Will probably have the same gears as yours though.

The other option is buy a GPS cable drive and do it external to the gearbox, again not cheap but you may be able to buy from JEGS or SUMMIT in the USA and ship to NZ:
