Is the hole in the bonnet for the air cleaner usually in the same place each time , if so does someone have some measurements , I have measured a 308 Torana already with the hole in the bonnet , just thought I would ask first

it will vary a little bit depending on engine position and height.

I was hoping there was just a safe size hole and position that continually worked , I just have a 308 with a standard edelbrock manifold , Holley carby 14” air cleaner , I’m just ready to paint the car , it’s way safer to cut it now.

How about using something fixed to the carb centre that is sharp and long enough to reach the bonnet.

Close the bonnet on it gently and it will mark the centre of where the filter will be.

Work the size out from that.

No measurements unfortunately, but this is what Holden were planning to do with the L34 Hatchback. (Yes....you read that right)
