Should the engine mounts be centered in the slots on the bolts that go through the K frame?

One of mine is low the other high. Does engine torque have anything to do with it?

Should I loosen and make them even?

It's fine, it's to give some wiggle room for manufacturing tolerances.

I like to have them as even as possible but as above it really doesn't matter unless you're chasing that last mm of clearance somewhere.

That mount looks buggered anyway. New ones might sit differently.

Install so engine is not tilted and everything clears. In one of my cars I have to have them in a very particular spot with a shim under one side to get the exhaust to clear everything.
