I’ve used Rares rubber magic on the same thing. Mine isn’t hard, just poorly installed in the factory and pinched funny. (Well, it’s 50yrs old so not soft n squishy either). I’ve been soaking it in a large ziplock bag. Over about 3 months, spraying it a bit more each time I remember, it has softened up and the shape has returned a bit…maybe a 10-20% improvement. I don’t think another 3 months will yield another 10% though.

Hi guys.  I understand the authenticity bit but I would be questioning the "fit for purpose" if it is already hard and potentially brittle. Is it something that can be fabricated from new rubber? Good luck with your endeavours. Cheers Ron

PS just googled it (if I'm looking at the right thing) and "the muscle car car parts" site has a rebuild kit for JC-LJ heater box gasket kit.

All the gaskets bar the one that Albert needs.
