Hi Guys

In need of some help tips and advise on how to remove the wood grain inserts on the lower section on the dash of a LH Torana

what i am trying to do is remove the light wood grain parts and swap them to dark wood grain as my lower dash is damaged

I have tried to use a razer with no luck and i dont want to do any damage

Thanks

Hi Kev. Sorry I can't advise first hand as I went a different way. Painted to match the car. Would it be possible to sand it down/off with say a dremel? I know it would be a bit time consuming but I think that is what I would try first. Good luck. Cheers Ron

Hi Kev.  Don't know if the wood grain insert are similar to the silver. If they are I used a heat gun on low till I could get under one corner with a scraper and the glue came lose and it came straight off. Found it on youtube. Hopefully this is helpfull.

Ok Guys

I removed the woodgrain section on the lower dash as mentioned above with heat gun

My problem now is the one on the top left around the vent next to the glove box seems to be part of the dash and not removeable

so what do i do now as it is a light woodgrain and i need to make it a dark woodgrain to match the rest of the interior

Thanks for any advice

Hi Kev.  That section is part of the lower dash from memory but I think it is still the same as the rest of the woodgrain sections ie. presume it should peel off as well. Cheers Ron

Hi Kev.   Not sure about the woodgrain but the silver  only the lower parts that were removable with heat gun. The part around the vents was not removable.
