What a day for any Motor Racing fans and Australians in general we have lost one of the greatest sportman and personalities this country has ever had some one who would take time to talk to any one and was a perfectionist at every thing he took on board, i am pleased to have met the great man and will never forget watching him race around the track.

Peter Brock

RIP

What more can be said, this is an extremely sad day.
Loki, I just noticed your comments. You remind me of the woman trying to put Steve Irwin down. It takes a pretty gutless person to put someone down after they are dead.

^ I have to agree, thats the 2nd comment made in regards to a death of some1 that you've made Loki thats uncalled for, you said something in the Steve Erwin thread about the dying kids of the world and that Steve Erwin guy whos no different to any1 else...no 1 is deneying that other people in the world are dying, but these threads were for a certain person, if you want to bring awareness to every1 about dying kids or the homeless or whatever start a thread on it! Dont drop comments that arent called for

Being 800km from real civilisation for work, i find it hard to believe when my brother calls me up and says "Brocky's dead, brocky's dead"... It took a few minutes to sink in, and i'll be the first to admit i let a few tears go by.

To the family and friends of Peter Brock (the King of The Mountain) - My best wishes and extreme condolences.

To the King - You have significantly impacted on the lives of MILLIONS of Australian motorsport fans and family friends alike. Nary a bad word have i heard about you, never a frown at all. For old time's sake brocky, you'll always be remembered by the people who devoted themselves for one day a year - to you. This year for bathurst, i'll have a coldie for you mate.

We'll remember you forever, take it easy up there mate!

Loki, your comments were in very poor taste and should not have been posted. You've just lost any respect that some may have had for you and have not made any freinds by not being able to excercise good judgement. There is a time and place and this is deffinitly not the time and deffinitly not the place for that sort of crap. Take the advice from Greg ^.

It definately is a tragic week for Australia, I've always admired PB and Steve for their acheivements and the way they lived their lives doing what they both loved, They truly are people who gave back to the world a hell of a lot more than they took.

Ease up hey Loki, Whatever you think of him as a person just try and remember what he means to a great deal of people and how he's touched their lives, if anything respect their grief mate.

For me PB was truly an inspiration in the way he took on life and what he acheived on and off the racetrack. Steve's dedication to the innocent world of animals deserves every acolade the man could possibly receive.

Hey I always thought these guys would be around forever

A pic I thought I would share. One of my favourite pics from the media day at Bathurst in 97. I caught up with Brocky at the end of the day to present him with the photo he is holding from the A9X club thanking him for his contribution to motorsport.

I can't believe how low some people can sink !!!, Ive just left a Friday night few beers after work get together, (because the text jokes were coming on the phones) already. Steve Irwin has a family and people who loved him, so has Peter Brock. So grow up !!! and have some respect.

A bit of respect for a dead man and grieving family Loki
Peter Brock=Legend driver, he will be greatly missed.
He brought so much joy to everyone who loved motor racing and to people who didnt really give a stuff about motor racing as he was so damn good at it.
Regards to his family they must be in a lot of pain.

RIP Peter Brock

I first came into contact with Brocky when I was about 8yrs old in New Zealand when I opened a Weetbix box and found a small Weetbix card with brocky's torana on it. Today I heard late arvo of the tragic news and thought that my brother in law was pulling my leg........I wish he had of been!!!!! I just can't believe that blokes like Steve and Peter who we idolise and regard so highly can be taken from all of us so tragically and suddenly, regardless of the circumstances. People say "They died doing what they loved", like that's a consolation to all of us??? The fact is that I saw the news today and I used to see Brocky powering up the mountain and used to think with pride, go Brocky smash those Fords, now for the first time I find myself holding back the tears. Holden and touring car racing just lost one of it's best ambasadors, a legend, a piece of motor racing soul.

I was lucky enough to have met Peter at a specially organised Torana car show in Hurstbridge, and he was brilliant with everyone there, signing everything and anything, including my glovebox facia. Peter you will be sadly missed, especially from those in N.Z. To Bev and family I sent my deepest condolences! I, as well as you all, will never forget our "BROCKY" the man that put our cars on the map, THE KING OF THE MOUNTAIN!!!

RIP Peter BROCK 6.9.06

Brocky was always there for his fans or just racing fans in general, I remember the 1st Bathurst race after the breakup with holden, he was walking in the pits with a couple of school kids "taping" an interview with him, he sat down on this step and I walked over and started asking him about the racing etc- well over 2hours later and a crowd of about 20 people asking questions and him signing autographs he said he better go ang get some sleep as this was the night before the race !!!
He will be sadly missed R.I.P Brocky.

OH by the way LOKI people like Steve Irwin And Peter Brock have probably done more for charities to help starving and sick kids that you would do in 50 life times !!!!!!

Well he will also be sadly missed on this side of the tasman. He seemed to be over here in NZ quite a lot, so I consider us lucky. I hope you keep safe as they say bad things happen in three's.

Some people have mentioned that at least he was doing what he liked.........and others have said that isn't right. I would like to think however that if PB had a choice of any way to go that he would prefer going in what he loved rather than withering slowly away in 30 years time in a rest home. Lets face it no matter where, when or how he died we would be, and are greatly upset.

He is what started my love for Holdens. His grit and determination endeared me to the brand and i am sure that is the same for many others. I cannot think of any modern day competitor that has come close to him.

the king is dead, long live the king!!

R.I.P Brockie.

Never got the chance to meet you, but always had wished to have gotten the chance to say you're the inspiration behind building the torri and love of V8 Holdens.

You will be sadly missed by every person that truely calls Australia home.

Your '79 A9X is waiting for you in heaven, mate

Im devastated.......Brocky was a champ. I used to follow the touring car racing from an early age and it was really guys that oozed class like Brocky that kept me interested. When he retired, so did my interest in the racing.

R.I.P Brocky you were a LEGEND. gees I was only watching the A9X, SS, V8 supercar comparison yesterday, I watched it 5 times in a row. What a bloody lousy week this has been. Please dont tell me he died in a ford powered fibreglass kit car. Your signed photo will always take pride of place in my home. condolences to family.
