I came home from work and could not believe what had happened to PB.

I have been following this thread for awhile unable to put words together about this and still can't.

RIP my hero.

maybe we could do something on this forum to contribute and show our respect, im not sure if this has been mentioned but we could have a 1hour respect to brocky our hero by not posting anything, or we could restrict posts during that time to only brock talk and our experiences that we shared with the 05 legend. what u guys think? i know he deserves a lot more, so any sugestions?

Why does it have to happen to 2 Aussies everyone loves. Why not John Howard , someone no-one likes.

What a week its been.
Of all the blokes you thought were indestructable it was Steve Irwin and Brocky.
My memories of Brocky go back to rallycross at Catalina Park,a picture of that Torana that was taken from a magazine called Giant Killers was signed by him when retired (?) and is one of my most precious momentoes and the A9X was the toughest race car I had ever seen and it still stands up today.
The time he gave to the fans was unbelievable as has been stated elsewhere.
I don't think I have even seen anyone with as much enthusiasm for anything like Steve Irwin.
There are few people in this world I'd like to shake hands with and he was one of them.
I was lucky enough to get the meet Brocky but unfortunately not Steve.
Vale two great Aussie hero's.

I was getting my glovebox off my torana signed by Bob morris, John Harvey, Harry firth, Colin bond and I had a space left for Brocks autograph to get done a bathurst. But the day will never come. My dad has the V8 power board that stood tall over brocks car in 1984 and even though I didn't get his autograph I'm glad to have that and all the memories it brings me.

Very sad news. Brocky was a legend, and many sportpeople could learn from his example of being so approachable and friendly to everyone.

RIP Peter

Although I didn't see Loki's post, like all of us, I'm sure PB had his good and bad points.

Personally, I'd prefer to remember and see the good in people, and there was a whole lot of good in PB. All depends which bit you wish to focus on, and which bit you do choose to focus on probably says alot about yourself, and your own view on life.

EDIT: Too many beers, fixed up the bad bits.

Can we keep the PB tributes to one thread? Personally, when this is all said and done, I'd like to bury it.

Like any race car driver knows, the only way to win is to keep moving in a forward direction, despite the obstacles and challenges, and that is the way PB would want it.

I cant believe this has happened. Someone at work said to me today and i thought they were joking until more and more came up. Then i seen the news and was gobsmacked. R.I.P to Peter Perfect. Youll always be the king of the mountain ripping round in 28C or the 05 hatch.

As for the negative stuff theres always Vultures when someone passes, shame they wait till then to make themselves known

Australian Historic Motoring Federation Display tomorrow morning in Canberra. We'll do a small tribute to the man following the display from the City to Parliament House.

A very sad day.

Like everyone else, I'm absolutely in disbelief that Brocky's gone.....

Its amazing how someone I have never met could evoke such a strong reaction, I've followed his exploits on the track since I was old enough to know what cars were....
He seemed to be the sorta guy you either love or hate, but I guess when you are that passionate (and bloody minded) about something you are going to make a few enemies as well as friends.
The fact that he was such a good driver (seemingly perfect..) perhaps put alot more pressure on his personal life and I think ppl were quick to focus on his (apparent) mistakes....
I'd like to remember him as someone that motivated me to follow my dream of car racing (when everyone else was telling me I was crazy and wasting my money) and after a long time and alot of effort I have achieved the start of that dream!

I'm just sorry I never got to shake his hand and say thanks.....

When I was a teenager in the late 70's , early 80's, my 3 heroes were Peter Brock, Gregg Hansford and Paul Van der Haar (Essendon centre half forward). It was bad enough when Gregg was killed at the Island but now this.
I bet Pete would want everyone to move on and have a red hot go at whatever their passion is in life.
RIP Pete.
Gone but not forgotten.
