I'm sad to report that I was contacted recently by a family member of Simon (went by his middle name Andrew), member and regular contributor here, known to us as Bigfella237.

 

On the 9th of July I'm told that he unexpectedly passed away.

 Andrew always had something nice to say. 

 

Last message Andrew wrote to me:

"G'day Dave,

 

 

 

I did know about your forum and have considered joining, but the little Toranas aren't really my forte (no offence) and I have so many forums that I frequent already... there are only so many hours in a day!

 

 

 

If I have some time later I'll go have a look around over there anyway, but thanks for thinking of me..."

Only a couple of days ago I was reading some of Bigfella's comments in a post on here and suddenly realised he hadn't written anything recently, as he was usually quite prolific. Sadly I know why now.

His last few years were hard, but he soldiered on through a lot of pain and the frustration of dealing with Centrelink and the NDIS.  I never met him, but got to know him through the emails we were writing to each other after I broke my back. I now really wish that I made the trip east to have a beer with him.

There is a technology forum I'm a member of and there was a Bigfella237 there and it shows his last post was 10am on the 9th July. I believe it may have been the same fellow. I have posted his passing over there. RIP, I liked your posts Bigfella.

For sure it was the same Bigfella237. He was last on the Just Commodores forum on the morning of the 9th July as well.

I notified the JC forum but they are not willing to post about his passing unless they have confirmation from a more credible source.

He should have had Cleverfella for a nickname. I asked him for ideas for a car trailer to tow behind my semi once, and he came back a few days later with the whole thing planned out complete with CAD drawings.
