Dipstick is on drivers side. Basically to get d/s header (custom tri y big tube) out requires gearbox off, then bellhousing off, then engine way up (might as well be out) to get the d/s header out. Is there a dipstick that avoids going through the header tubes?
304/355 dipstick in LX with high energy sump and big headers.

If you have to go that far taking the gearbox off it might be worth lifting the car off the engine/gearbox/k-frame in one go.
I find it easier lifting the car off or lifting the car up high, putting an atv lifter trolley under the k-frame and lowering it down the wheeling out from under the car.

If your header tubes are that big I doubt you'd get a dipstick around them. Surely it's still possible to remove the one bolt to install and remove the dipstick separately? If the header bolt isn't accessible enough maybe you just need to make a bracket so there's a second screw to attach the dipstick, it could be fairly small.

I would try much longer commodore dipstick tube & pipe bender to see if you an bend it to header bolt at front...might just work if long enough.
You'd probably have to mark empty & full marks as it will probably be wrong as expected.

I'm using the matching Aeroflow flexable dipstick.
It does go through the pipes , but it;s on a swivel bracket so i guess you could mount it elsewhere .

Thanks I might have to make up a different bracket for the tube. One with a bolt I can get to. Current one is well hidden.
