Hi all

On my UTE the copper radiator has a little brass drain plug. See pics attached

I have not had an issue with this for years however recently on startup after being parked for a week or so, there is some leakage only on startup. Does not seem to be leaking while idling or on short drives.

I removed the plug to inspect and it was clean with no dirt or grime that may cause it to leak. I just wiped the plug and reinstalled and it seems to have sealed off.

This is how the plug has always been installed and it was fine for years like this.

Have you guys seen such a plug before? Should there be a rubber grommet between the 2 sets of threads on the plug?

Sure I have, but the plug has flat plate wings on the end for finger operation.
