Good result bruce. When I got the new cam for my 179 from Jonny Marshall he also supplied on request lifters, which he surfaced as well. Lifters seem to be fraught these days.

What cam specs did he supply you with?

Spoke to him yesterday about a cam for my new engine

I asked for it to generate peak torque around 2800RPM, which is where it sits at 60kmh in 2nd and 100kmh in top (all sync 3spd, tall final drive).1245a869e0358ea792beba78ea5cdb2a.jpg
Torque curve turned out pretty flat on the chassis dyno.

She goes well your car, Clay
I remember it being nice to drive and pretty pokey too for such a mild cam

Thanks Bruce. It was getting a bit warm on the way home from all Holden day last Sunday. I’m hoping that was the cause of slight pinging occurring. Time to remove the ally plate blocking off the front of the radiator. Gauge got up to 104C and the idiot light even came on. At least I know it works.

Pretty special number plate alpha characters RAR. All of the HK Operation Jess and Operation Outback cars were RAR plated.

I’ve got the rights to RAR-361, which is on the old girls car now.a3350393eff21290adc864513910c6b9.jpg
Also I think I still have the rights to RAR-301, at least I used to.

I thought your number plate was a special request one Clay, ‘cause that’s the sound your Ute makes when you rev it

My old Torana used to sound more like this

I bet Rsp would get irritating on those long trips

Or could get a green on yellow one PING-61

Sorry to spoil all the light hearted silly fun we are having here, but
my freshly reground cam arrived here last Tuesday.
Only took a couple of weeks
Another pleasant surprise from my new faves at Crow Cams
Haven’t even had time to make a move on that lifter grinding idea yet.
I really was hoping for some advice on that one,
Especially if I need talking out of it.
I might just ring a couple of cam shops and see if I can bend their ears
for 5 minutes and get the lowdown
