Hi All

I have just bought a Stromberg WW2 and manifold for my LC with has a 173.The numbers on the top plate are nothing like what previous posts have shown (23-xxxx).

All it has on top is

A 6

4 13

The only other marking is 2376436   1 3/16

Regards

John

I will need to rejet it then.

Would anyone know what the jet sizes are for a 173 HC engine with a WW2 carby.

Did some research and the A 6 is the later version for the P76. The A 2 was the earlier version. The 4 13 I would think are manufacturing dates.

According to this service bulletin the only change to the 173S carby from the 161S is to the power bypass jet size.

I have attached the page from the LC workshop manual showing the 161S carb specs.

Cheers Kev

I’ve got a few bits and pieces, so if you need any parts I can see what I’ve got. It was always going to be a practical option on my 179 before I got dazzled by twin strommies and SUs.

51 is the drill size so it will have two 51 holes drilled into it
