What sort of gearbox boot are people using for aussie 4 speed into LC

Do rares have a replacement that fits the cutout profile I have?

II have looked on website but - maybe domestic blindness- I dont know

On a non related topic I am relocating my battery to the boot

Is it a matter of drilling holes thru firewall with suitable grommet and running cables thru the interior of the car?

This is definitely a slow process

I used a firewall pass through fitting with swaged or soldered cable lugs bolting up either side. Actually I made a copper bus bar and bolted one end to an isolator switch, with a short cable to the starter. Alternative is to run along the sill panel with d clamps, then a pass through into the boot. I would not recommend an ordinary grommet for fear of it rubbing through and shorting the cable.

Rehashing an old thread ,but for those that are looking for a boot option for LCGTR ,Matthew hit the nail on the head .The Nissan 720 gearshift boot will do the job ,nice tight fit inside the housing ,tried it under my console with no problems.

Thanks Dave

There is also a square-ish metal retainer plate that goes over the flange of the boot to hold it to the transmission tunnel.

I can't remember off hand if Rares also do those.
