Way back in 2006 l acquired an LH SLR5000 which had belonged to forum member _ultrabluea9x_ (Glenn). He referred to the car in Forum posts as the ugly duckling and things were pretty ugly. His proposed rebuild did not progress and l became the owner.
After spending many years in the back of my garage awaiting attention which never came l passed the car on to my mate after purchasing the Gough Group C L34. My mate did the rust repairs and paint on the L34 and has recently completed restoration of the ugly duckling from a bare shell. He registered it just before Christmas 50 years to the day from its first registration in 1974. Its maiden voyage was about a half hour journey to my place. I had tried to persuade him to paint it as an LH but at the end of the day its his car. Either way no longer the ugly duckling and its great to see it back on the road.
