Just bought back a car I sold to a mate of mine seven years ago. LH pov pack original 253 4 speed. Last time I owned it I was going to do the whole L34 replica thing but I think I have decided not to flare it so I’m thinking L32 SLR

Sounds like a pretty good plan, the unflared SL/R's looked just as good as the flared ones.

How bad is the car? is there much rust etc. to deal with?

Not rusty at all, It's been off the road since the 80's when it was in an accident. Has had a replacement rail and front panels. The bonnet that's on it is a bit shitty but I have another good one.

Would make a nice LH SLR5000 replica, only visual difference apart from logos/badges is the front and rear spoilers. Just me but I’d fit it with an injected 5.0L top end on an original HQ/HJ 308/5.0 block. Gearbox whatever takes your fancy, for me it’d be something that requires no Engineering eg Trimatic.

Wow. That's the first time I have seen the Stylene stripes on an actual car. I have their catalogue here somewhere.  Have you got the plates from it? Is it an S or SL?

That's pretty cool, a metallic optioned S. Pretty rare to find metallic base models unless they are SVP's like Sandman.

It was bought as a demo model from Zupps in Brisbane, so I guess they optioned it up a bit, V8, metallic paint, heated rear window. Those lovely stripes, Magnum jelly beans. My mate who I sold it to back seven years ago became mates with Rob Beauchamp (RIP) and he can remember going to buy lunches in it when he was apprenticed at Zupps

The Jelly Beans were actually a GMH option. RPO code N67. I had an early 1976 LX Hatchback with them.

Here are some LX leaving Dandenong headed to SA, NSW or QLD with them.
