So 30 hundred weight would be close to 1.5 tonne then? Those figures were a bit before my time. The metric system was introduced around the time I started primary school.112 lbs or 50.8 kgs. How did I do?

You got any evidence of this? Only Turbo Torrie I'm aware of was the UC SL/T, and that was dealer fitted. Just interested that's all........could be possible as there were turbo lh-lx's fitted up at dealerships.

QUOTE
There was a pink one, i do remember that,, but i can't recall the other colours. I actually tried to buy one but wasn't allowed to. They didn't have any road compliance or anything.
AMC: Harry says they were rammed into the crash barrier at Lang Lang. Do you remember that ?
RB: Yes, I think thats where they ended up.
Only believe 2% of what you read and 3% of what you hear !!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope we dont have to wait another 35 years to find the truth !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if you have read the AMC article on the XU-1 V8 but in that Harry is quoted as saying:Dont allways believe what you read !!!!!!!!!!!!! Harry calls them the XU-2 and that ill do me !!!!!!!!!!!!!
"To me XU-2 was an obvious progression from XU-1 so it was a code name that I used in general reference throughout its development phase. However that name was not officialy ratified at the time of the cars cancellation - which has caused no end of debate among enthusiasts! For this story, however, I will use it in reference to the V8 Torana prototype, for easy of identification and to avoid any confusion."
(Harry Firth AMC issue 9 p 46)
I don't want to argue this to the point of starting a war but personaly i will stick to the opinion it wasn't going to be called XU-2. But then since nothing was finalised name wise, i can't really even try and argue that it would have been called XU-1 series 2 V8 or soemthing like that.
With the issue of cars still being around, i think the chances of that are almost 0 seeing as it would have looked very bad for Holden if a few XU-1 V8s had snuck out the back door!

Friday the 13th of June is actually a Tuesday ! Cant even get the bloody dates right let alone anything else. Gee Pete there has been some bullshit written about the XU-2 or what ever you want to call it over many, many, many years !I found a website with some information on the XU-1 V8, however I cannot vouch for it's accuracy...
