hey rorym just picked up my skyline diff yesterday from aussie diffs, had the same as what you had done. just wondering a couple of things

have you done anything with the tailshaft yet, is it just a matter of getting a 6 bolt flange welded on? or does it have to be lengthend/ shortend?

also wondering what master cylinder you using?

And What length did your front brake lines end up being? From Hq caliper to wheel well hard line.

Cheers

Nothing on the tailshaft..I havce a guy that does them from scratch in Bundy...He will just weld on the Nissan end...3" tube and Toploader tube at the box end..Ask a diff guy they will tell you where to measure..

Standard master cylinder..you need to pull the stopper on the back tube/line in..a thread here on it somewhere or ask Datto..

I had braided steel lines made up for the front, 550mm long.

Mine are L34 flares as well..

Bought 6 Commodore B45 Simmons...have worked out if I back to back the inners I get 10" rims on the back.(see pic)..use the inners as outers on the front and then use 4" inners ...gives me the 9" on the front....centres are off getting redrilled and steel sleeved in HQ pattern...sent the 2 old Challengers to get them steel sleeved as well as the other 2 are already done. Dropping the inner rims off tomorrow to be sand blasted back to alloy colour...not going to polish them up..just leave them as dull alloy colour like the original Globe rims. They should end up like Anna Cameron L34 rims in the pic.

Are there any tyre mounting problems with an inner on the outside?

P/P really works a treat, is that buffed by hand or machine?

It took a light sand blast then buffed by machine..I will hit it with P/P to finish the external rim shine.

Will you be able to fit the tyres once the rims are bolted together or will you have to assemble the wheels around the tyre ?

Won't that be like trying to fit a tyre to the wrong side of the rim ?

Local Ford guru who owns Bob Jane says he has been back to backing inners on Simmons for years with no dramas....Says the tyre falls on fine..Guess I will find out. These BMW rims are the same..inners as outers...and thats the genuine Simmons fitment.
