It will interesting how your gilmer reacts with your cam.
Your using the crane 288 for memory?
In two different engines, a 308 and a 355, both with the crane 288 solid cam, the belt would need tightening once every 48hrs driven daily.
Yet the same belt setup, in the same engines with smaller hydraulic cams would never need adjusting.
Even with red loc tite on the bolts, mine comes loose.
Thought i would share my experiences, you may have the same??

Getting close now..carb is on...radiator tomorrow.....more I do..the more I change...might do the Lokka diff now..trouble is if I do that I might as well do the 1/2" wheel studs when the diff is apart...which means pulling the front rotors off to do them as well... ...Used2Have1 might have solved my rear simmons rim problem...the hydraulic clutch bracket is touching the drivers side rear of the rocker cover (VN heads) so I need to pull that off...cut 1/2" diagonally of the corner to clear then get that welded back up as well....CRS have sent me a clutch line and slave cylinder bracket so hopefully the clutch hydro system is sorted...decided to wait for the auto elec tuesday week...then fire it up..then off to get the exhaust done...thats it...should be on the road by the end of the month WooHoo! :spoton:

Pick up the UD on Sat..fair dinkum!!..Turbo diesel/power steer/Air con/CD player...like driving a car!...120kph on the highway no worries..has a hi ratio diff in it...goes like stink!!!

Hmmm...Radiator outlets are Ford....big....engine outlets are Holden..small...might try some of those Gates flexible hoses, that might solve it..

IMO change the radiator fittings to the correct ones so they don't pop off in the heat of the moment, you know these things play up at the worst moment. (hose popping off)

Where did you end up getting them from? Would they sell them to you on their own or fitted only?
