OK...Dropped the tranny to fit the button clutch plate...eventually!! bastard wouldnt come out and I eventually undid the pressure plate to get it off as a unit......guess things always need to be checked....it was slipping from 2nd to 3rd...mainly because the clutch plate was fitted...not by me....backwards!!!...driven the spigot bush on...I need a puller to get it off tomorrow..plate was hardly was touching the flywheel!..My new clutch man says wonder what times I would have done if it was hooking up properly?? Shit yeah!! Actually thats pretty scary...its fast enough the way it was..

It comes out about 3mm then jams Kev...guessing the shoulder on the clutch plate has ground into it and created a lip that is holding it on...that was the screaming noise I heard at the end of Sunday doing the last 2 runs when I put my foot on the clutch..it was always pretty doey..never felt solid and locked in... Actually it really is pretty scary that I won my class with a slipping/not right clutch set up...wonder what it does when it locks in solid and drives?

Hopefully this hasn't put excesive end load on to your crank.

Wouldn't hurt to give end play a quick check maybe. Big s/driver behind flywheel.

If it moves with a screwdriver I would be surprised. A few thou is hard to see..if its more than that the crank would be floating in and out and other more sinister noises would be present I would think but I am no mechanic.
