Rory what fuel tank are you running. Any chance of some pics or do you have a post number so that I can go back and have a look as I'm sure you have already posted some.

Ruts.

It allowed me to flick the stock tank underneath for more room...plus it was like the original.

R,
The signwriting on your car is it hand painted or stickers and where did you get it done??. Also I saw the tank you have in the boot but do you still have a standard tank underneath. While in the question asking mood can you tell me what class you run the car in and what sort of events can you compete in.

Stickers...a mate has a machine and did them for me...I removed the std tank to get clearence for the panhard rod stay bar..I enter it in Group C in hillclimbs and sprints ...so far it has been put in over 5000cc touring cars for the first event..will be interesting to see where Speed on Tweed and Noosa place it.

Hey Rory, with speed you only get 2 choices, Flat cap masters( consistency, so you dont have to drive like the devil, thats me) or go as fast as you can and beat everyone else, and dont crash, thats not me. But its all good fun.

The things you find...it was still slipping from 2nd to 3rd...so I cracked it and bought a new master cylinder...it was the only thing I didnt change...guess what?..on inspection it was binding in the piston and coming out slowly...not SNAPing out like it should...therefore was slowly feeding in the clutch producing the slip..bugger me!!

OK another 6 simmons turned up today, 2 16x10's 2 15x8's and 2 15x9's
Quickly bolted up the 16x10's which has shown up a problem with the length of the diff(BIG THANKS TO JOHN TORANASS FOR PICKING UP THE 2 16x10'S FOR ME  )

They fit...just, currently they have a 255 slick on them, im looking at using a 270 slick.
So my options are
Run smaller wheels or tyres :<_<: umm no thanks
Pull the diff out and shorten it to normal torana length-currently about 20mm per side wider
Shorten the axles and change from the commodore brakes to skyline-commodore brakes have about 20mm extra from the axle to the disc for the internal hand brake setup, skyline handbrake runs off the calipers.
Or sell the diff and build another one
Thinking the brake change might be the way to do it

I did think of that, but doesnt seem to be alot of people around making the bigger flares, and it might look odd having the A9X flares on a L34 replica, but still thinking on that one...

I don't think you'd really notice the difference... with the stripes and stickers all over them, you'd have to know what you're looking at to spot the difference. It's probably the easiest and cheapest option, but maybe not the best...

Tim
