I don't think you'd really notice the difference... with the stripes and stickers all over them, you'd have to know what you're looking at to spot the difference. It's probably the easiest and cheapest option, but maybe not the best...

Tim

Would give it a fat ass though :D

Tim

Would love to do a hatch, but hatches lately are expensive and rusty, or really good...and expensive, so another sedan A9X replica this time, another HDT

I thought you might've already had a Hatch stashed somewhere :P If you can't find a half decent one relatively cheap, no one can!

Sounds like the replica bug has bitten you hard :D

Hmmmm, that means I can't do one of the cars I was deciding on.......
Big fan of the co-driver too.....

How about you have the A9X sedan, and you can put the paint on mine for the third L34??
Let me know how much, eh?

What car were you deciding on?
Which co-driver?
Once the A9X replica is almost done i'll probably sell off the L34, im just keeping the mild 308 in it, test bed car, the 355 will go into the next car

Even though its still around-sorta- this is my next one http://www.autopics....c.html?cache=no

That's the one - #8 HDT A9X sedan - upgrade of Brocks L34 i think - Bathurst:O'Brien/Ron Harrop.
Also looking at some more obscure A9X sedans.

If you wanna do it as the "other L34" for me, let me know how much for the paintjob.
You should be a pro at that scheme by now.

what are you going to gain from changing the brakes?

will you gain anything from swithching the inners for the outers on the 16's or are they 5" in and out?

and with the A9X flares it would be a biggish job to change them, the bolt holes are in different places to the L34 flares

Makka,
the Commonwhore brakes have a spacer which pushes them outboard.
Changing them over reduces the bolt up length.

See the Skyline BW threads.

If I go to skyline brakes they take away the extra 20mm, with the commodore brake setup it has the inner shoe/hand brake setup, the skyline doesnt. If you look at Rorys diff, it pretty much goes from the axle flange to the disc, the commodore setup goes, axle flange, inner drum then the disc.
The 16's and my other 15x10's both have 5inch inner and outer rims.
As for the flares ive seen 2 sets that have the same bolt holes but are wider, would just be a matter of finding some.
I dont really want to modify this diff too much, bit of a waste, so I may end selling it if I cant change the brakes or do the flares.

Daren, I have some 150mm flares, they are a 4 door flare, but no cut for the door to open, try them if you want.

Might do that, will be interested to see if the bolt holes line up with the smaller ones

Grant, they have the drum type brake on the inside. I am sure that they dont space anything out though as the drum setup mounts to the axle housing face with a 3mm or so plate. I will see is I can take them off tomorrow and have a look.

They are off a VP
